2020 Jeep Gladiator Engine Specs
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is now available at Ray Brandt Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, but if you’re anything like most of our Gretna and Marrero neighbors, you’ll want to take a closer look before you get behind the wheel. We’ve put together a detailed guide on the 2020 Jeep Gladiator engine specs, so you can know exactly what to expect from your test drive!
Although the 2020 Jeep Gladiator is currently only offered with one engine, Jeep plans to offer an EcoDiesel option in early 2020! We’ve collected everything we know on both options here!
Standard 2020 Jeep Gladiator Engine: 3.6L Pentastar® V6
The standard 2020 Jeep Gladiator engine is a 3.6L Pentastar® V6–the same V6 that you can also find in legendary models like the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee! It’s not hard to see that the Jeep Gladiator specs can propel you over any challenge:
- You’ll conquer the Marrero backroads with 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
- The Jeep Gladiator mpg is perfectly adequate for daily driving. With this engine, you’ll earn 17 mpg city and 22 mpg highway, according to EPA estimates.
- Combining impressive fuel economy and power in a pickup truck is no easy task. However, Variable Valve Timing and Engine Start/Stop technology both come standard with this Gladiator setup.
Getting More Done With Your Gladiator’s Engine
There’s no way around it: Whether you’re interested in towing heavy loads or taking more off-road adventures, the Jeep Gladiator specs prove that this is one of the most capable midsize trucks ever made!
Although we can’t hook up a trailer on your test drive, we can show you exactly how much the Jeep Gladiator engine can handle:
- Jeep Gladiator Towing Capacity – Best-in-Class maximum of up to 7,650 pounds
- Jeep Gladiator Payload – Carry up to 1,600 pounds in your bed
What’s more, every Jeep Gladiator comes standard with Dana® 44 heavy-duty solid axles and Trail Rated® Jeep 4×4.
When Will the Jeep Gladiator Diesel be Available?
There’s only one Jeep Gladiator engine available to Marrero drivers today. However, the long-awaited Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel should arrive on our lots in early 2020!
Should you wait for the new Jeep Gladiator diesel engine? We don’t have a precise idea of where its specs will fall when it goes on sale in the States, but since it’s already available in Europe, we expect that the Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel engine will offer at least 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque!
If the improvements made to the new RAM 1500 EcoDiesel are any indication, the new Jeep Gladiator Diesel engine will probably be significantly more efficient too!
